Get Paid to Blog

For those of you out there, who eat sleep and breathe blogging, this may be the site for you. The site is called payperpost.com and you get paid to write post about what you are passionate about.

For instance if someone out there doesn’t have the time to write quality post, they can pay for a post at this site. All you have to do is sign up for an account. Once you have been approved, you place some code on your site. When someone is visiting your site they can click the link and offer you a minimum amount to write a post for them.

When you sign up you set your minimum offer. Whatever you think the quality of your post is worth, for example $20 is a good price. So if you are good at writing this is a great way to make some extra cash.

Join Blogging Communities for Extra Traffic

A good way to spread the word about your blog and meet other bloggers is to join a blogging community like mybloglog. This is a great way to start getting your name out there. You can add your blog and set up a profile. Then start joining other communities pertaining to your niche.

Start posting informative post on similar blogs and people will start to check out your site as well. There are many communities out there and this is just one of them. Find as many as you can and just keep posting and networking. There is a good chance people in the same niche will want to talk to you. You can share ideas and exchange tips.

Mybloglog also offers stat tracking so you can see where all of your visitors are coming from and which pages they are reading. This is a great tool for analyzing details about your traffic and seeing what works and what doesn’t. You get a free trial for three days and then you have to pay but if you are serious about blogging it is well worth the cost.

Top Ten Things I Have Learned About Blogging

Here are the top ten things I have learned about blogging recently for those beginners out there. I have learned many lessons over the past few weeks.

1. Make the topic of your blog something you are passionate about. Unless you are passionate about the subject of your blog you can forget it. You will be burnt out before you can say blog. You will most likely run out of things to say after 2 or 3 days. Also people aren’t going to revisit a blog unless you enjoy what you are writing about. Readers can sense that and will likely no stick around.

2. A simple plugin can make all the difference in the world. Using a simple plugin like all in one seo pack is a necessity if you want a piece of that precious se traffic. It only takes a minute or so to install and has many features like putting your site name after the description in the title tag of your header.php file. This lets the se’s see your keywords first before the name of your site, unless of course the name of your site is your keyword.

3. Make a good first impression. Image isn’t everything but it is a lot when thousands of sites are competing for your potential visitors. Make your mission statement stand out letting people know instantly what your site is all about. Give them a reason to stay and put your best content at the top of your page so people can see what you got. Also keep it clean and simple. No one is going to want to stay if they can’t find useful content.

4. Build a sitemap for your site so google and other se’s know when you update. You can install a very simple plugin for wordpress called google-sitemap-generator. Very easy to install and it builds your sitemap for you. Update your sitemap every time you make a post to let everyone know you updated your site with fresh content.

5. Start a contest to create a buzz around your blog and bring traffic at the same time. This is a great way to gain some new traffic. Advertise your contest on forum, classified, and anywhere you can telling people you are going to give away a product to the person who makes the 1000th comment on your blog or to whoever does the best review of your blog.

6. Make a unique video advertising your blog and submit it to youtube and other video sites. If you make an interesting video people will want to see more and where it came from.

7. Post informative comments on other blog posts and try to be one of the first people to comment. Usually the blogger won’t read past the first 15 or 20 comments. If the post is about a problem someone is having try to give them a solution. If your comment impresses people they will want to see who you are and what your site is about.

8. Write, write and write more content. Just make sure it is original content and not the same thing 20 other blogs are writing about. Of course you can rewrite important news on your subject but be sure to write something original every day or two. Content is king when it comes to blogs and search engines love it.

9. Talk to other bloggers and try to become friends with the bigger blogs. One link back to you from a big blog can send mucho traffic. Try to become friends through email and build a strong relationship. This can pay dividends in the end. It takes a while but it is worth it.

10. Use adsense on your blogs. If you think adsense is dead you are sadly mistaken my friend and I have seen that a lot. Check this out if you don’t believe me. Over $400,000 in 4 years from adsense. It is definitely a top money maker for blogs along with Chiquita Malls.

Ok so I was gone a little while. Ok 30 something days I think. Well it’s time to get to work in a big way and things are gonna change around here. First of all it is almost Christmas and I am freaking out because I haven’t done anything as usual. But back to my blog.

I am going to be doing a makeover since I never really had the site like I wanted it to begin with. Im going to redesign and I won’t be writing any more post about mma on this blog. because I started a strictly mma blog at www.redsweat.com. So you hardcore mma fans please check out my new mma blog. It is going to be loaded with great info about mma including news, rankings, interviews, merch and more.

Well this post is going to be short and sweet because I have a lot to do at the moment. But please stick around and subscribe because from now on I will be posting pretty often great money making tips and ideas. Out

EliteXC Predictions

For those of you who dont know, Elite XC is on Showtime tomorrow night. The main even will feature Nick Diaz vs KJ Noons. Kimbo. It is going to be a great fight. Also Kimbo Slice is making his Elite XC debut in the heavyweight division. Another great fight on the card will be Jake Shields vs Mike Pyle. Anyways here are my predictions on the fights.

Make Money with Adsense Videos

Well in case you haven’t heard adsense now provides you with a youtube video player you can embed into your web site with google ads overlayed on top of the video. This is another great way to make some extra cash from your site. From what I have seen it looks pretty easy to set up. You can modify it to match the look and feel of your web site as well. You can also match the videos to your sites content just like the text ads.

I haven’t set this up yet on any of my sites but I am defintely going to test it out and see what kind of results I get. I will let you know when I do. Adsense videos would be great if you had a videos site allowing it to blend in. You could have it on the main page as your featured video. As far as a non video site it might be pretty distracting to viewers but I believe you can alter the size of the player.

Top Hosting

Well after a whole two weeks of hosting with GoDaddy I had enough. I have moved to a new host and they freaking rock.

I was quick to jump on the Godaddy bandwagon without doing my research. I am an impulse buyer so a lot of times I will purchase things just because I am impatient and in a rush to get things going. I was so excited to get all of my sites going that I jumped into a virtual dedicated hosting plan at Godaddy.com.

Turns out this was a major mistake. Towards the beginning things were looking good. They seemed nice on the phone when I called. I was a little worried about the fact that I knew more about hosting than they did. And I am no hosting expert to say the least.

The first thing that happened was that I could’nt log into the control panel to add some domains. I emailed support. The response time wasn’t bad but they told me that I would have to adjust the limit for java via SSH (or something like that). Basically they said my processes were using up all of the memory and I was going to have to fix it myself. Ha ha good one. I made an attempt but did not succeed as I have no knowledge of SSH. So the next day I called and talked to someone. They came back and told me it was fixed and that the server was looping an error. Turns out support was wrong. Go figure.

The next issue I had was this. I had three different GoDaddy employees leave voicemail’s on my phone for various reasons (basically welcoming me to GoDaddy). Which was nice of course. Problem was every time I would call and ask for the person that told me to call them specifically, this would happen. Either they wouldn’t know the person I was talking about because I didn’t have the last name or they would just insist on helping me themselves. I absolutely hate when you are calling a certain person and the person that answers insist on being the one to help you. I don’t want “you’re” help. I want to talk to Brandon. I hate having to re explain everything that is happening to my account every freaking time I call.

The final thing is this. When I signed up they did not ask me if I wanted support with my plan. So come to find out, I had no support with my plan. I was basically on my own. If I would have known this I would have paid the extra for the support. I have many scripts I need installed pretty regularly.

Ok I am going on too long now. To sum things up the customer service was awful and they would not install any of the scripts I needed. Don’t use GoDaddy. I did a lot of research and found some really good host.

The host I selected is ATCI Hosting. So far they have blown me away and blown GoDaddy out of the water. Chris was quick to answer all of my questions. All of the scripts I needed were pre installed and they are even going to install Comus Thumbs for me. Unbelievable!

I highly recommend signing up with ATCI Hosting.

Downtime

After much frustration with my host I am back. Sorry everybody for the downtime. I switched my hosting to a dedicated server and I had some issues setting up my domains. Anyhow everything is back in order now. I will have to make up for lost time with some good post.

UFC 68 Uprising

UFC 68 is almost here. A far cry from Pride Fighting but I will watch it because I love all MMA. Not the best card in the world either with Tim Sylvia and Couture headlining. I would love to see Tim Sylvia fight some of the Pride Heavyweights. That would be funny. Anways here are my predictions for the fights.

Basically I don’t know who the hell any of these new guys are. This UFC pretty much sucks. Its like watching the WWF after watching a Pride Tournament.
